TEN SPA...Could you be any better?

This weekend I went to Ten Spa for a 75min facial. It cost $115, which lets face it, is kinda steep...especially on what I make as an assistant merchandiser in the fashion industry. But, a girl has got to treat her self every now and then....When the choice is food or spa day...I pick spa. I'll be skinnier and prettier in the end! haha...jj
AnyWay...........I arrived a full hour before my treatment and spent 20mins in the beautiful steam room in the pic above. After that I had the BEST shower of my life. 4 shower heads on the ceiling, and 1 on the side. The L'Occitane en Provence products provided were just icing on the cake!

Paul Poiret with my own 2 eyes!

While traveling through France this summer I had the great fortune of seeing Paul Poiret Couture with my own 2 eyes! The fact that these were found in this adorable madame's attack in an old suit case makes this collection even more incredible. She sold most of the pieces to the Metropolitan Museum of Art in NYC, but kept her faves which I'm sharing with you here. Her grandmother was one of Poiret's muses', but moved to the country side where she didn't have a chance to wear these incredible garments, but when ever she went into paris she was sure to pack her Poiret couture.

The forward thinking in both construction and design are incredible. The coats are constructed from one piece of fabric, the turban style hats, the dresses with the empire waists, and the hobble skirts are all signatures of "The King of Fashion". Poiret works continue to influence designers today.

This pic is from the Sartorialist...
I'd like to introduce you all to my new BF...his name is Sergio, and we are in LOVE!!!! and we have matching scooters...and we are in love...did I mention that already?

Welcome Spring

This is my friend Andrea, her dog Madison, and her loverly Ilse Jacobsen boots. These are made from 100% natural rubber, and lined with cotton fleece
With all the hype about the fall 2010 collections, I thought that I'd take a moment to live in the present and welcome the first day of spring. There is nothing like a fun floral jacket (made by yours truly) and pink rubber boots to say 'We missed you warm weather'.

Hi!

so while rummaging through an unpacked box of shoes (...I moved in october...) I stumbled upon these little diddies! They reminded me of when I thought I was a bad-ass punk...the boots along with the short orange pixie cut, extra short kilt all toped off with a Misfits T-shirt really helped to compleat this look! haha...those were the days. I'll have to find a pic of this outfit to post.
Rock on!
